About Van Wyck Mountain
Van Wyck is a bushwhack mountain located mostly on Catskill Park state land in the Catskill Mountains of New York. There are no marked hiking trails on Van Wyck.
Approaches from the north, which would cross private property, are off limits. The mountain can be hiked from the east via Table Mountain, from the south from Route 42, or from the west with permission via Woodhull Mountain.
Van Wyck is the site of two plane wrecks, both on its southern ridge.
Van Wyck is a steep and difficult mountain that’s best suited to experienced backcountry navigators.
